Stratospheric ozone varies on the earth as the levels are higher near Antarctica than near the Arctic.

<h3>What do you mean by Ozone?</h3>

Ozone may be defined as a gas that is composed of three atoms of oxygen. It is highly reactive in nature. It is found in the earth's upper atmosphere.

The level of ozone is found to be thickest at the poles as compared to the equator. This is because excessive sunlight weakens the ozone layer in the equatorial region.

Among both poles, the ozone is generally higher near Antarctica than near the Arctic.

Therefore, stratospheric ozone varies on the earth as the levels are higher near Antarctica than near the Arctic.

Name the tissue in which water is transported to the leaves
LuckyWell [14K]

In vascular plant, Xylem is one of the two tissue involve in transport water from roots to stems and leaves and also transports nutrients.

Two types of cells of this tissue are tracheids and vessel elements which are involved in transport.

<h3>What is the function of xylem ?</h3>

Xylem  and phloem are known are two major vascular tissue.

Xylem tissue  involve in transport of water and some nutrients from the roots to the leaves.

Phloem tissue involve transport of  sucrose and other nutrients throughout the plant.

The passive transport called xylem sap occur through a long tube xylem cells.

The phenomenon where the xylem sap allow the flow upwards against gravity is called capillary action.

Explain how the structure of epithelium and the structure of connective tissue, specifically bone, relate to the function of the
Aneli [31]
<span>Epithelial tissue is densely packed cells that used most in the area where protection is needed. This cells mostly used in skin, some with more keratin which will increase their ability to protect. In bone, the main protective layer is calcium mineral which was deposited by osteocytes. Because this bone doesn't really need more epithelial cells. Bone tissue only needs a good vascularization and connective tissue to support it.

___are a major component of the membrane of<br> all cells.
xxTIMURxx [149]

Answer:

Proteins and lipids are the major components of the cell membrane.

Explanation:

Depending on the membrane’s location and role in the body, lipids can make up anywhere from 20 to 80 percent of the membrane, with the remainder being proteins. While lipids help to give membranes their flexibility, proteins monitor and maintain the cell's chemical climate and assist in the transfer of molecules across the membrane.
