Answer:

Passage 1 is more effective because passage 2 relies on personal anecdotes as the main evidence.

Explanation:

Which passage provides the more effective argument, and why?

The correct answer is Passage 2 is more effective because it presents data as empirical evidence and passage 1 does not. Passage 2 sources information from the Journal of the American Medical Association which is a reliable and verifiable source. It uses this empirical evidence instead of just citing statistics that can't be backed up as no source is given, and personal opinion as in Passage 1.

In which passage is it clearest that the author is using diction to achieve some kind of effect?
Gelneren [198K]
Diction is the choice of words to achieve a special effect. A characteristic of  diction is a common use of adverbs and metaphors. This can be found in option B:

the words "gingerly", "sleepy", "like a mouse" don't introduce (a lot of ) new information, but create the atmosphere of coziness and sleepiness.

Short review on the loat child by mulk raj anand<br>pls I really want this answer
MissTica

Answer and Explanation:

"The Lost Child" is a short story, which even in a few words, has the power to bring an impactful message and highlight the presence of people who often go unnoticed in our lives, but are essential for our well-being. These people are our parents.

"The Lost Child" introduces us to a child who lost his parents while walking in a fair. At this moment, the child is desperate not to find the parents and at this moment that this child becomes aware of the importance of the presence of his father and mother in his life. The boy's awareness is also our awareness, since the presence of our parents may go unnoticed by us, but their absence is shocking and desperate.

This feeling of despair is maintained until the end of the story, as the reader does not know if the boy managed to be reunited with his parents. This is also a moment when the reader can identify, since the loss of parents may or may not be definitive.
