What was no longer an issue after the civil war was over
Dima020 [189]

Slavery was no longer an issue after the civil war was over.

The American Civil War started because states that permitted slavery fought against states that wanted to ban slavery, because of that the pro-slavery states wanted to leave the Union and then the War started.

The American Civil War lasted from 1861 to 1865 and at the end of it, in 1863 President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation that changed the status of slaves from slaves to free men. By 1865 Union Army controlled the Confederacy and liberated slaves there.

After this, Reconstruction began and federal troops went to the southern states to protect ex-slave’s rights and avoid the beginning of another slavery era.

How did the p site of the ribosome get its name?
kykrilka [37]

The ribossome has three sites:
first: A-site (aminoacyl)
second: P-site (peptidyl)
final: E-site (exit)

While the translation of a protein happens, the P-site holds the t-RNA, which is bonded to the growing polypeptide chain of aminoacids.
That´s why it's called a P-site, there is a bind between the peptidyl and tRNA.

Why were some Americans Anti-Imperialists in the late 19th and early 20th Century?
Monica [59]

The anti-imperialists opposed expansion, believing that imperialism violated the fundamental principle that just republican government must derive from "consent of the governed." The League argued that such activity would necessitate the abandonment of American ideals of self-government and non-intervention—ideals
