During these times, European countries were competing with each other to be the first ones to find a new sea route to Asia since Muslims had dominated over other trading routes. Ferdinand and Isabella believed that if they found a new shorter sea route to Asia before Portugal did, they would have the upper hand. Also, they would get access to many resources and markets making them prosperous

If you lived in the colonial time what would you change about one major event? How would it affect the United States today?
jonny [76]
To be honest, I dont know. I'm actually not an American. :)
But If i had to pick one major event...it would be making George Washington the president.

To explane.
George Washington's presidentsy in a way made America, in some aspects, what it is today.
Now imagine if he was not made a president but chose to be a dictator. I know its funny and my nest statement is going to be even funnier.
Assassins Creed 3: The rule of King George did a decadent job in imagining and explaning this. I recommend reading its plot, I think you would find it interesting. Its full of what ifs and alternative history events.

Sorry for not giving my version but its a bit hard for me to imagine something like that.

Answer:A call to Arms

Pope Urban has seen an opening for power in 1095. Pope Urban decided to assist the head of the Byzantine Empire by murdering the Turks. Since the Turks are Muslim, and the Pope is Christian, the Pope desires the power to stay elsewhere and not in the hand sof peopel who don't believe in Christianity.

The Childrens Crusades

The Second Crusade

The Crusades Begin

In 1212, poverty was so great that it was known as the children's crusade. Two 12 year old boys, by the names of Nicholas of cologne, and Stephen of cloyes, claimed that they had received a message from God, telling them to fight and retake the Holy land. They both began to spread their message, gaining followers in both France and Germany. With the total number of people from both groups, their numbers reached into the thousands. Sadly, neither group was able to reach the Holy land.

The Crusades continued over the past 100 years. European lords slaved to keep control over the crusader states, such as Edessa. The Holy Order of Knights fought back when a crusader stare was charged against. Emperor Conrad III ad King Luis VII were the two powerful monarchs associated. They desired to overtake Damascus instead of defending Edessa so the plan was unsuccessful and the majority of crusaders went home. The crusaders who remained defended Jerusalem.

Peter the Hermit, a French monk, created an unorganized army consisting of peasants and soldiers in 1096. Peter and his army created a People's Crusade. Being the special speaker he is, Peter motivated people to fight against the Muslims for the Holy land. Sadly, the People's Crusade was unsuccessful and almost all the crusaders were murdered by Turkish soldiers.

Fifth and Sixth Crusades

1097 AD

A skillful army was constructed by merging the French, German, Italian, and Belgium armies by 1097. Since the army achieved a number of more about 30,000 soldiers, they created a powerful force. Any lands defeated would be given to the Byzantine Empire as the Pope promised.

For a year, Kind Richard kept trying to obtain control of Jerusalem, but yet Jerusalem, never fell. King Richard just decided to create another idea instead. During this time, he started forming a connection with his enemy, Saladin. He never broke through, even after multiple tries at Jerusalem. He did end up making an agreement with Saladin, which was Christians could enter the Holy land and see their shrines.

The Fifth crusade was directed by Kind Andrew II of Hungary, it was a complete failure. First he went to the Holy land and after going to Egypt, his effort was unorganized. The sixth crusade was directed by Frederick II of the Holy Roman Empire, he gains back the power of Jerusalem.

The Fourth Crusade

The Seventh Crusade

The First Crusade

The fourth crusade appears to have not so much power supporting it. With the French Knights leading it, in 1202 they started out for the Holy land. While getting side tracked on their way there by the Venetian Lords who convinced them to take over the Eastern Orthodox church in Constantinople instead of retaking the Holy land. The pope being a Roman Christian Orthodox and not a Greek Orthodox ruler, that meant he was selfish to rule another Christian land. When Constantinople was underneath Roman Orthodox's rule, they finally lost the ability to control it to the Muslims.

King Louis IX of France guided two more journeys, which was put together as the seventh crusade. This crusade was unsuccessful to make any regional gains. The final stronghold of the Christendom on the Holy land, Acre, collapsed to the Mamluk Empire in 1291

The first crusade was set off by brothers Godfrey and Baldwin of Bouillon. Baldwin created the first Crusader state at Edessa. The crusaders captured Anitach after a long siege. August 1098 the crusaders finally reached Jerusalem. Godfrey died, so Baldwin became the first kind of the Christain kingdom of Jerusalem.
