Lot's wife is one of many biblical references Rowlandson makes in her account. Research what Rowlandson means by saying, "and I

One will believe that Rowlandson actually choose this reference in her allusion in order to show that she is leaving her dead child behind while leaving to answer God's call just like Lot's wife leaving her possession in Sodom while leaving Sodom as instructed by God.

What is allusion?

Allusion is actually known to be a figure of speech which is used to talk about a situation or someone by making a relatable reference to another thing.

So, we see that Rowlandson actually saw herself leaving her dead daughter behind while going forward to answer God's call. This was similar to what happened to Lot's wife.

“At about half past nine Napoleon, wearing an old bowler hat of Mr. Jones', was
Nina [5.8K]

Answer:

D No animal shall sleep in a bed

Explanation:

It was a couple of days after the fact than this that the pigs happened upon an instance of whisky in the basements of the farmhouse. It had been disregarded when the house was first involved. That evening there came from the farmhouse the sound of noisy singing, wherein, amazingly, the strains of Monsters of Britain were stirred up

Be that as it may, toward the beginning of the day a profound quiet loomed over the farmhouse. Not a pig had all the earmarks of being blending. It was almost nine o'clock when Bigmouth showed up, strolling gradually and dejectedly, his eyes dull, his tail hanging flaccidly behind him, and with each appearance of being genuinely sick. He assembled the creatures and disclosed to them that he had a horrible bit of information to confer. Comrade Napoleon was passing on!

Write three inverted sentences about events in the wife of baths tale
nika2105 [10]

Answer:

 • "At the same cask of mariage I shall broach "
 • "Today there walks the holy friar himself "
 • "Sad was the knight"

Explanation:

Inverted sentences are those in which the order in which the predicate and the subject is presented in an inverted form to what is conventionally seen. That is, usually, the subject appears before the predicate, however, in the inverted sentences this order is changed and the predicate appears before the subject.

The above phrases, taken from "The wife of Baths" is an example of this. However, it is necessary that you understand what is predicate and subject.

Subject is the element of the sentence in which the verb is acting. In the case of the phrase "Today there walks the holy friar himself", the verb is "walks" and he refers to "holy friar", since it is holy friar who is walking. In this case, "holy friar" is the subject of the sentence.

The predicate refers to everything the subject is doing, in the case of the sentence above, the subject is walking in a location. This in the sentence is represented by "Today there walks," this being the predicate.

To Kill a Mockingbird (Chapter 19) - What examples does this chapter provide of characters practicing empathy? Which characters
Reptile [31]

Answer:

What examples does chapter 19 provide of characters practicing empathy

In this chapter Jem, Scout and Dill are the characters that practice empathy. When the trial of Tom Robinson was about to start, Jem, Scout and Dill snuck into the courtroom. They were not supposed to be there.

Which characters are able to ""climb into the skin"" of others and ""walk around in it""?

Boo Radley, Atticus Finch and Tom Robinson are all victims of prejudice, and all three characters are plagued by this.

How do they respond to others as a result?

It affects them all differently; crippling them and disabling them from acting as they wish

What are the consequences

These characters suffered due to the prejudice that they face. For instance, the first character Boo, is excluded and always kept away from society by his father who locks him up. It is obvious that Boo suffers from lack of socialization and in addition to his cruel father, he grows up to be an antisocial individual who is lonely. Atticus on the other hand has to confront a mob that is ready to kill Tom and he puts his life in danger. He also suffers the lack of approval by his fellow white folks. Furthermore, his looks have made the town to brand him as evil. This social discrimination makes him a victim because when he is claimed to be the one causing evil, the children, as well as adults, dislike him. He thus suffers emotionally.
