The Indus Valley Civilization started to decline around 1800 BCE because of the climate change and migration. It relieved it because the idea made it possible for individual states to democratically vote and choose whether or not their state will be a slave or a non-slave state. Of course, there were states where slavery was democratically chosen, but there were those who didn't support it too.
