1. point of view. The point of view is the eyes through which the story is told. The author often gives a specific purpose and uses their point of view to shape and communicate that purpose.
2. summarize. An effective summary can only be written if the reader knows the main idea, key supporting details and author's overall purpose. Without those elements, a summary would be ineffective.
