A girl wants to count the steps of a moving escalator which is going up. If she is going up on it, she counts 60 steps. If she i
Kaylis [27]
Let's V the speed of the girl in step
v the speed of the escalator in step
L the length between ground and floor.

V*60+v*60=L ==> V+v=L/60
V*90-v*90=L ==> V-v=L/90
2V=L(3+2)/180
==>V=5L/360
Time to climb (in step) with v=0 (escalator standing still)
V*t=L==> t=L/V=L/(L*5/360)=72

The girl will count 72 steps.

PLEASE ANSWER CORRECTLY, DON'T JUST STEAL THE POINTS.
marin [14]
Since you're only asked the ordered pair of D'', it's much easier just to plot and reflect point D twice than to do that for all four points!

Remember that reflecting points is like putting a mirror at the line of reflection or flipping that point over at that line. The reflected point should be the same distance from the line of reflection as the original point.

1) Reflect D over the x-axis to get D'.
D is at (4,1). Draw a line that is perpendicular to the line of reflection and goes through D. D is as far from the line of reflection as D' should be on its other side (both are on that perpendicular line). Since D is 1 unit above the x-axis, that means D' is 1 unit below at (4, -1). See picture 1.

2) Reflect D' over <span>y=x+1 to get D''.
D' is at (4, -1). Draw </span>y=x+1 and the line perpendicular to it going through D''. D'' is the same distance from the line of reflection on the other side. See picture 2. D'' is at (-2, 5).

Answer: D'' is at (-2, 5)

-3x+8=y solve for if the equation is a function or non function
Ket [755]

Answer:

The equation is a function

Step-by-step explanation:

-3x + 8 = y

Reverse the function.

y = -3x + 8

Draw a graph of y vs x  (below)

To determine if the relation is a function,  we can use the vertical line test:

If a vertical line crosses the graph more than once in any location, the relation is not a function.

We see that at no place will a vertical line intersect the graph more than once.

The relation is a function.

Which expression shows 48+36 written as a protuct of two factors
nirvana33 [79]

Answer:

12(4+3)

Step-by-step explanation:

Factor out all of the problems.

Starting with 4(12+4)

This means (4*12)+(4*4)

48+16 is the answer to this

this isn't 48 + 36

12(4+3) is next

12*4 = 48

12*3 = 36

48+36 = 48 + 36

Therefore 12(4+3) is your answer

hope that helps!

hope this is what your looking for
