The presence of natural harbors helped many cities became prosperous centers of trade and  shipping.

Explanation:

These colonial cities in the Mid-Atlantic Colonies included Delaware Colony, New York Colony, etc and because of the natural harbors they had, they were able to become prosperous traders.

Geography and climate, by extension helped trading activities to boom, because they took advantage of their rich agriculture to export food and other natural resources.

After they consolidated and joined forces together, they were able to beat Carthage after a campaign of war.
