Why are temperature extremes found at places far from the ocean, while areas close to the ocean rarely experience severe tempera
zzz [600]

Answer and Explanation:

The offshore or coastal or littoral  regions have very rare experience of extreme variations in temperature, this is due to the fact that the heat capacity of water is higher  than it is on the land which means that  it takes longer time for water to vary its temperature i.e., it takes longer time for water to get heated or  be cooled. Therefore, it goes with the established fact of heat capacity of water that the regions far away from the ocean or littoral regions experience extreme temperature variations as compared to  the areas closer to the coastal regions and these areas have moderate temperature i.e., neither too hot in summers nor cold in winters.

The total amount of water on earth is fixed then why studies show that 40 percent of the world population live in water stressed
liraira [26]
Answer:  Water on earth is not distributed evenly; and the amount of SAFE DRINKING WATER is not accessible evenly.

Further, a large portion of the earth's water is ocean water (about 70% of the Earth itself is ocean water, which is not readily available for human consumption (or for consumption of other animals —or plants, for that matter; and not all people live near the ocean (from which seawater can be "converted" into potable water) or near places where potable water can be obtained.

View the population pyramid that reflects the current world population distribution by selecting 2015 in the drop-down menu to t
Scilla [17]

Answer:

Analyze the shape of the pyramid. What points of information from the pyramid stand out to you?

The pyramid has indeed the shape of a pyramid, although it is a bit narrow.

What stands out the most is that people younger than 24 still represent the age brackets with the largest share of the population. However, the difference is very small compared to the age brackets of people in adulthood.

People older than 60 still represent the smallest groups.

Compared to the population pyramid of 1965, what shifts in the world’s population do you notice?

The shape of the pyramid of 1965 was much broader at the bottom, this means that the lower age brackets represented a larger share of the world's population.

For example, the youngest group: those aged 0-4, represented in 1965, 14.3% of the world's population, while in 2015, they represented 9.1% of the world's population. This tells us that the world population is aging.

How does the river discharge<br>affect the environment
Sedbober [7]
More frequent droughts and shifting precipitation patterns lower water levels in rivers, lakes and streams, leaving less water to dilute pollutants. Higher temperatures cause more frequent algal blooms and reduce dissolved oxygen levels, both of which can cause fish kills and do significant harm to ecosystems.
