nexus9112 [7]

Answer:

D

Explanation:

Piteously means pitiful, so it is probably not C, I have not read the story but it doesn't seem like Priam (the father?) would set fire to the town. so i would say D, the death of hector meant the end of troy.

Read the excerpt from Fast Food Nation.
sleet_krkn [62]

Answer and Explanation:

I'll provide an answer against the statement "The fast-food industry can give valuable work experience to teenagers.”

The fast-food industry is not at all concerned with the value the experience of working in it will add to someone's life. As was stated in the text, they hire teenagers "because they are less expensive to hire than adults, but also because their youthful inexperience makes them easier to control." The experience those workers will acquire from that job is limited, probably even useless in other areas. A McDonald's employee does not learn how to cook - they can't leave McDonald's to suddenly work at a regular restaurant. They have machines beeping all around them, letting them know when the food is supposed to be ready.

Viefleur [7K]

Use language that's easy-to-understand. If there's a piece of vocabulary that you feel needs clarifying, define it!

Nobody likes a short, one-word-answer. Let’s make sure other people understand everything.

Explain everything. Imagine that the person who was asking, knows nothing at all so you need to start from the very beginning.

AlekseyPX

Answer:

C. A possible challenge to your argument and evidence refuting it

Explanation:

Claim and counterclaim are the two essential part of an argumentative essay. Counterclaim is the part of the argument in which the opposition ideas of the thesis statement is placed. The opposing view is stated with the point the opposing viewpoint. In this way the point is proved weak and invalid, thereby proving the thesis statement. The evidence and source are also provided in both the claims and counterclaims for the justification.
