The author in the sentence That’s when he began singing the songs he’d been writing for years underground, songs no one had ever heard, or anything like them—“Eyes in My Head,” “X’s and O’s,” “Who’s Watching Hardest” uses satire, mocking man’s inability to freely express himself. Since the man is unable to express themselves he had been writing for years which goes unheard. The character who has been not recognized is now full of anger and forgotten.
