The reason why there are still American military forces in the Middle East is to protect some nations as well as to continue the war on terror.

Why are there U.S. soldiers in the Middle East?

The U.S. still has a lot of soldiers in the Middle East but most of these soldiers are there on the request of their host nations.

These nations need U.S. protection and the U.S. also uses this opportunity to fight terrorism in the region.

Well under president Bush, after 9/11. he implemented the War on Terror. for example, he destroyed Al Qaeda and killed Osama Bin Laden, but he also did bad things such as he said he was gonna kill Sadaam Hussein, and he did, he justified it by saying that hussein had mussels (the US never found any). the reason US troops still stay in the Middle East could be many things. training, for example, in israel for desert warfare.
