Kevin and Bob have owned and operated SOA as a C corporation for a number of years. When they formed the entity, Kevin and Bob e
S_A_V [24]

Answer:

Assets                  FMV                  Adjusted Basis       Built-in Gain

Cash                    $200,000         $200,000               $0

Inventory             $80,000           $40,000                  $40,000

Land and Bldg    $220,000         $170,000                 $50,000

total                     $500,000

A) Since SOA is making a liquidating distribution, it will be taxed as if they sold their assets at fair market value:

  • distribution of the inventory results in a $40,000 ordinary gain = $40,000 x 30% = $12,000 in taxes
  • distribution of the land and building results in a $50,000 Sec. §1231 gain = $50,000 x 30% = $15,000 in taxes

total recognized gain = $90,000 (= $40,000 + $50,000)

B) After taxes are paid, SOA's total assets = $500,000 - $27,000 = $473,000 which must be divided equally between Kevin and Bob. Each owner should receive $236,500.

So Kevin's gain = $236,500 - $100,000 = $136,500

What was the main goal of the Farmers’ Alliance?
KIM [24]

The main goal of the Farmers’ Alliance is planting cheaper  land and supplies

<h3>Further explanation </h3>

The Farmers' Alliance was an economic movement started by American farmers in 1875. The organization was made up of White farmers' groups from the North, South, and West. Farmers' Alliance sought to improve the economic conditions for farmers through the creation of cooperatives and political advocacy. Farmers set up cooperatively owned retail stores and marketing organizations. The idea is to give producers more influence in buying their supplies and marketing their products.

The Farmers Alliance was formed to try to help farmers to become profitable again after the Civil War. The Farmers' Alliance was first organized in Texas in the mid-1870s and soon spread to other states and territories in the South and Midwest

One of the main goals of the Farmers' Alliance included:  to end the crop-lien system, which was bankrupting many farmers and to help each farmer to produce profitable supplies.

The Grange, the farmers' alliances tried to help farmers by providing educational and social events. Farmers would attend classes to learn about new farming techniques.

Maksim231197 [3]

Answer:

The answers are:

  1. $80,000
  2. $80,000

Explanation:

The nominal GDP includes all the production of final and legal products and services. The real GDP is the nominal GDP adjusted to inflation.

Peg's contribution to nominal GDP in 2015 was $80,000 (4,000 nail sets x $20 per nail set). If 2015 was the base year, in this case real GDP is the same as nominal GDP.
