Survey 50 randomly selected seventh-grade students at each of the district’s middle schools. Then the correct option is A.

<h3>What is a sample?</h3>

A sample is a group of clearly specified components. The number of items in a finite sample is denoted by a curly bracket.

The athletic director of a large school district with about 1,500 seventh-grade students in five different middle schools wants to know which sport is most popular among seventh graders.

The survey method is the best to use will be

Random sampling is the method of selecting the subset from the set to make a statical inference.

Survey 50 randomly selected seventh-grade students at each of the district’s middle schools.

Thus, the correct option is A.

Segment XY bisects angle WXZ and angle mZXY = 37 degrees. Find angle mWXY and angle mZXW
Vadim26 [7]

we know that

The angle bisector, is the line or line segment that divides the angle into two equal parts.

So

in this problem

m∠ZXW=m∠WXY+m∠ZXY

m∠WXY=m∠ZXY

Part a) <u>Find the value of m∠WXY</u>

m∠ZXY=37°-----> given value

so

m∠WXY=m∠ZXY=37°

therefore

<u>the answer part a)</u>

The measure of angle WXY is equal to 37°

Part b) <u>Find the value of m∠ZXW</u>

m∠ZXW=m∠WXY+m∠ZXY

m∠ZXW=37°+37°=74°

therefore

<u>the answer part b) is</u>

the measure of angle ZXW is 74 degrees

A sign standing 6 feet tall is situated 18 feet away from a flag pole. at a certain time of day the sign's shadow is 3 feet long
alexdok [17]
Observe attached picture.

On picture we have:
A = height of flagpole = x ft
B = length of flagpole's shadow = 24 ft
C = height of sign = 6 ft
D = length of sign's shadow = 3 ft

When we draw a picture representing this problem we can also add another line marked in red. This way we can see that we have two right-angle triangles. We can see that both have same angle marked with α.

We can apply trigonometry rules to find height of flagpole.

From small triangle containing sign we can find tangens function:
tan \alpha = \frac{C}{D}
Similarly we can do for large triangle containing flagpole:
tan \alpha = \frac{A}{B}

We see that these two equations have same left sides. This means that their right sides must also be same:
\frac{C}{D} = \frac{A}{B}
We can solve for A:
CB=AD \\ A= \frac{CB}{D}  \\ A= \frac{6*24}{3}  \\ A=48 ft

Height of flagpole is 48 feet.
