Archaefructusliaoningensis is an angiosperm. It is the oldest fossil that helps in explaining the presence of this flowering plant during the cretaceous period.

Further Explanation:

The last and the longest part of the Mesozoic era is the cretaceous period. It lies between the minor extinction period andthe Jurassic period to the cretaceous-Paleogene extinction.

The important hallmark of this period was the radiation and development of flowering plants. The flowering plant found in that period was angiosperm. It is determined by the oldest fossil that has been found to date is angiosperm such as Archaefructusliaoningensis. It is discovered by the Ge Sunand David Dilcher of china. It has a similar appearance as a black pepper plant. It also helps in explaining that the insect that helps in pollination such as wasps and bees was also evolved at the same time. The scientist says that the pollination from insects was established after the first flower.

Find the sensory hair ( vibrissae) around the mouth, cheeks. what do you think these are used for?
lawyer [7]

Vibrissae, more commonly known as whiskers, are sensory hair that generally have a tactile sense, which is equivalent to skin. They grow on most mammals except monotremes (duck-billed platypus and echidnas) and humans, though humans still have remnants of the muscles once associated with vibrissae in their upper lips. Vibrissae serve a number of purposes: such as sense of touch; detection of danger, air and water currents, and movements of other animals; and the locating of food.
