Linking verb: verbs that aren't  action but like connectors. Ex: am, is, are, was, were, grow, look, may be, will be

Predicate noun: descibes the subject. Ex: Ms. Johnson is the school principle. The predicate noun is the school principle.

Predicate adjective: follows a linking verb, adjectives describe things. Ex: It may be warm today.

Indirect object: receives what is being given or done. Ex: My brother chased the dog. The dog is the indirect object because it was being chased.
