Answer:

. After slavery, state governments across the South instituted laws known as Black Codes. These laws granted certain legal rights to blacks, including the right to marry, own property, and sue in court

. Family, church, and school became centers of black life after slavery. The Freedmen’s Bureau (1865-1870), a government agency established to aid former slaves, oversaw some 3,000 schools across the South and ran hospitals and healthcare facilities for the freedmen.

. From the late 1860s white supremacists in the KKK (Ku Klux Klan) terrorized African American leaders and citizens in the South until, in 1871, the US Congress passed legislation that resulted in the arrest and imprisonment of Klan leaders and the end of the Klan’s terrorism of Americans for a time.

Why was Japan’s conquest of Manchuria an important step in expanding its empire?
FrozenT [24]

Answer:

The Japanese army accused the Chinese of committing the attack, thus providing a pretext for the immediate invasion of southern Manchuria by Japanese troops. This led to the creation, a few months later, of the puppet state of Manchukuo, under the theoretical authority of the ex-emperor of China, Puyi.

How did Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcom X differ in their approaches to gaining civil rights? A. Dr. King supported worki
bezimeni [28]
It was A.  Though both Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X both worked on the goal of helping blacks in their struggle for civil rights in the United States in the 1960s, their approach and speech was very different.  Martin was more conciliatory in his approach.  He used peaceful methods and often incorporated the teachings of the Bible.  He wanted blacks and whites to coexist with each other.  Malcolm on the other hand, was very aggressive in his approach.  He was not afraid to lash out at what he viewed was the unfair treatment that blacks were given and encourage violent means to achieve that goal.
