You have to find the square root of 6 and 10 so you say x which is not known plus the square root of 6 which 36 =square root of 10 which 100. X+36=100 so you take the plus to the other side and write x= 100-36 which will give you 64 so you look for the square root of 64 which is 8 and you got your answer X=8

Question 1 of 15
Mrac [35]

The function y = - 50x + 75 is linear. So, the correct option is (A).

<h3>Define linear function.</h3>

The formula for a linear function is f(x) = mx + b, where m and b are real values. Isn't it resembling the slope-intercept form of a line, represented by the equation y = mx + b? Yes, this is the case as the graph of a linear function is a line. Here,

The line has a slope of m and a y-intercept of b.

The independent variable is "x."

The dependent variable is "y" (also known as f(x)).

Consider the equation y = - 50x + 75

Compared to the linear function equation, we get

m = -50

b = 75

So, the function is a linear function with a constant change. The function will be linear at all points.

Find the general solution to the differential equation modeling how a person learns:
Luda [366]

Here we want to solve differential equations, we will see that the general solution is:

y = A*e^{-t} + 100

We want to solve the differential equation:

\frac{dy}{dt}  = 100 - y

From this is pretty clear that y is an exponential function, with an exponent of -1*t.

We can write it generally as:

y = A*e^{-t} + B\\\\\frac{dy}{dt}  = -A*e^{-t}

Then if we set B = 100 we get:

y = A*e^{-t} + 100\\\\\frac{dy}{dt}  = -A*e^{-t} \\\\\frac{dy}{dt}  = -A*e^{-t} - 100 + 100 = -y + 100

So we just found the general form of the function.

Now we have two cases:

A) y(0) = 35

y(0) = A*e^{-0} + 100  = 35\\=  A + 100 = 35\\\\A = 35 - 100 = -65

In this case, the function is:

y = -65*e^{-t} + 100

B) y(0) = 125

125 = A*e^0 + 100\\\\\125 - 100 = A\\\\25 = A

In this case, the function is:

y = 25*e^{-t} + 100

Now we want to see which one of the two can represent how a person learns. Just look at the graph below:

The green line is the one for y(0) = 35, and the blue one is for y(0) = 125.

Notice that for small values of t, the blue function is really large, thus it can't really model how a person learns (is larger for smaller values of t than for larger values).

So y(0) = 35 represents better how a <em>person can learn</em> (but not exactly, because you can see that it eventually becomes almost constant, which is something that really does not happen) so the correct option is <u>D: none of the above.</u>

Let mA = 40°. If B is a complement of A, and C is a supplement of B, find these measures.
nasty-shy [4]
If B is a complement of A this means that the sum of the measures of A and B is 90 degrees.

mA + mB = 90
                  mB =90 - mA
                  mB = 90 - 40 = 50

Thus, the measure of angle B is 50 degrees.

If C is a supplement of B then, the sum of the measures of B and C is 180 degrees.
                mC + mB = 180
                mC = 180 - mB
                 mC = 180 - 50 = 130

Therefore, the measure of angle C is 130 degrees.
