Madame Butterfly was the name of one of Giacomo Puccini's famous opera.

It was 3 act opera that was said to be based on a story, Madame Chrysanthème by Pierre Loti. It was originally a 2 act opera, however it was initially poorly recieved due to the late rehearsal impart to Puccini's late completion of the piece. He would later revise it to three act where then it received a better reception
