Answer:

6.4%

Step-by-step explanation:

percentage decrease= decrease/actually amount×100

2.35-2.20/2.35×100

0.15/2.35×100

0.06383×100=6.4%

Percentage decrease=6.4%

Select the correct answer from the drop-down menu. consider the equations y = |x − 1| and y = 3x 2. the approximate solution of
kaheart [24]

The approximate solution of this system of equations is

(x,y)=(-0.25,1.25)

What is an equation?

Equation is defined as the state of being equal and is often shown as a math expression with equal values on either side, or refers to a problem where many things need to be taken into account.

Given that,

y = |x − 1| and y = 3x+2

y = |x − 1|

    = (x-1) ,    for  (x-1)>0 or x>1

and

y = -(x-1)  ,    for(x-1)<0  or x<1

y  = -x+1

Now,   For x>1

y = x-1    ......(1)

y = 3x+2   ......(2)

Solving for x by equaliting's method:

3x+2 = x-1

→ 3x-x = -1-2

→ 2x = -3

→ x = -3/2

→ x = -1.5 which is <1.

For x<1

y = -x+1    ......(1)

y = 3x+2   ......(2)

Solving for x by equaliting's method:

3x+2 = -x+1

→ 3x+x = 1-2

→ 4x = -1

→ x = -1/4

→ x= -0.25 which is <1.

substitute the value of x = -0.25 in equation 1 for x<1.

y = -x+1

  = -(-0.25)+1

y  = 1.25

Hence, The approximate solution of this system of equations is

(x,y)=(-1/4,5/4)=(-0.25,1.25).

karinne hit 4 more home runs than 1/2 the number of home runs Lu hit. Together they hit 10 home runs. Let X represent the number
Misha Larkins [42]

It is given that Lu hit x numbers of home run.

So, number of home run hit by Karinne is more home runs than 1/2 the number of home runs Lu hit.

So, number of home run Karinne hit is :

y = 4 + 0.5x

Also,

x + y = 10

Solving above two equation, we get :

x + ( 4 + 0.5x ) = 10

1.5x + 4 = 10

1.5x = 6

x = 4

Therefore, number of home run hit by Lu is 4.

Hence, this is the required solution.
