I haven't read this book since freshman year. George Orwell states that the pigs in animal farm express communism to some extent, and the more power the pigs have, they create a negative democracy. At first the Old Major wants all the farm animals to be equal, until they come up with reasons not to and basically they get kicked out of their communism "club".
