PLEASE HELP I WILL GIVE BRAINLEST

OK. All the work is in the attached drawing.

Please spend enough time with it to understand what was done and how, so that you can do the next problem like this one completely on your own.

Good luck !

==============================

Here's a picky pickypoint to think about concerning the "cost". I'm not quite sure what to do about this:

The initial, one-time $55 is a "deposit". If she doesn't smash the bike or steal it, she gets the $55 back when she returns the bike.

So if she eventually gets the $55 back, is it a cost ? ? I don't know how to think about it.

She does need to give them the $55 at the beginning, just to take the bike out. So she has to have it with her and give it to them temporarily, even though she'll get it back, and she'll still have it when she returns home.

So here's the story:

-- While she HAS the bike, the graph correctly shows all the money she needs, in order to get the bike, and keep it for however long she keeps it.

-- Finally, at the end of the week, after she returns the bike and gets her $55 back, the line and everything on the graph will shift down by $55. The line will start at zero, and the little red ordered pairs will also shift straight down and still be on the line.

To put it one more way:

-- While Jen has the bike, the y-intercept of the graph is $55.

-- After she returns the bike in good condition, the y-intercept is zero.

A box of cashews peanuts and almonds contains 270 nuts. for every 5 cashews there are 6 peanuts and 7 almonds. How many more are
yKpoI14uk [10]
For every 5 cashews, there are 6 peanuts and 7 almonds.

Means:    Cashews:Peanuts:Almonds = 5:6:7

Sum of ratio = 5 + 6 +7 = 18

Cashews =    (5/18) * 270 = 75

Peanuts =    (6/18) * 270 = 90

Almonds =    (7/18) * 270 = 105

So how many more what are there than peanuts?

The number of that nuts Minus the number of peanuts.

= Number of that nuts  -  90

Surface Area of the pyramid
hichkok12 [17]

Answer:

C

Step-by-step explanation:

the total surface area of such a pyramid is the sum of 5 areas :

1 bottom square (8×8)

4 side triangles

the area of a triangle is

baseline × height / 2

now, we know the baseline of the 4 triangles, but what is their height (at least we know, all 4 have the same height, as the pyramid is totally regular) ?

the height of the side triangles is the slant height of the pyramid (the distance from the middle of a sideline to the top of the pyramid).

we get this by imagining a right-angled triangle inside the pyramid :

one leg is the inner height of the pyramid.

the second leg is the connection on the bottom square from the base of the inner height to the middle point of a sideline). this is half the length of a sideline.

and the baseline (Hypotenuse) is the slant height of the pyramid.

we can use Pythagoras

c² = a² + b²

with c being the Hypotenuse (side opposite of the 90° angle).

slant height² = 7² + (8/2)² = 49 + 4² = 49 + 16 = 65

slant height = sqrt(65) = 8.062257748... in

so, we get a areas

bottom square = 8×8 = 64 in²

a side triangle = 8×sqrt(65)/2 = 4×sqrt(65) =

= 32.24903099... in²

all 4 side triangles = 4×32.24903099... =

= 128.996124... in²

and we get as total surface area

64 + 128.996124... = 192.996124... in² ≈ 193.00 in²
