I do not have the documents in front of me but I can explain it. The Declaration of Independence was mainly critical in that it was criticizing the England's leadership as it was declaring its freedom. In contrast, the Constitution was much more upbeat and positive in that it listed the numerous right that would be awarded to people in a new democratic nation.
