While observing some ants, a group of German scientists noticed that the ants had an excellent sense of distance. Wondering how
melomori [17]
The conclusion that can be made given this information is that ants count their steps while walking.
And given that their legs were not either shorter or longer, that means their steps were either shorter or longer, which means that made either fewer or more steps then in the beginning. And if you take into consideration that they counted, let's say, 20 steps, and then either didn't get to their initial position or passed it, the answer is obvious.

What is the best example of a cyclic event?
Rus_ich [418]

The correct answer is A. The appearance of Halley’s comet every 76 years.

Explanation:

Cyclic events follow a pattern of occurrence, this means they occur every certain time and can be predicted. This category includes natural phenomena such as weather patterns or the phases of the moon. In this context, the one that is an example of a cyclic event is Halley's comet (option A) because the appearance of this comet occurs every certain time (76 years) and this can be predicted, which are two key features of cyclic events. Also, others such as hurricanes, tsunamis, or earthquakes do not follow a precise cycle or cannot be precisely predicted.

If you wanted to make a prediction about an event that required complicated analysis of data which tool would be the most helpfu
erik [133]
If I was going to make a prediction for a scientific data thing I would always go to plotting it as a graph – with graphics calculators you can get it to even give you an equation to follow.

The only problem with this is if you're wanting to predict data beyond the range of your given data points (extrapolating), because it is generally viewed as inaccurate.
