When a maritime tropical air mass is cooled by a colder ground surface the weather is often A: stays nearly the same but the sur
Kitty [74]

B: becomes foggy or rainy because cool air holds less water vapor.

Explanation:

The maritime tropical air masses are warm and humid, while the air masses forming over the land tend to be dry, in some parts are cold and in some parts hot. When these two collide, the weather rapidly changes. If the maritime tropical air masses moves toward the colder ground surface, then the weather will become foggy or rainy.

The reason for this is that the water vapor in the maritime tropical air mass will start to condensate because of the lower temperatures, so precipitation will form. The precipitation is usually manifested through rainfall, while in the mornings it tends to be foggy.

Why could global warming lead to the increase in the number and intensity of hurricanes ?
STALIN [3.7K]

Global warming is, in simple terms, the earth's climate increasing in temperature. As this will result in sea temperatures rising, it leads to high-intensity hurricanes and increase in number of hurricanes. A hurricane is caused by evaporation of warm seawater. Climate change increases the warmth of seawater. As a heated environment causes ice caps to melt, resulting in sea levels rising, the chance of coastal surge being amplified increases.

Hurricanes draw their energy from deep below the ocean's surface and increased temperature means that there is more energy and it is even stronger.
