Up to 100 million sharks are killed each year by humans?
anyanavicka [17]

The statement is culled from the article titled "100 Million Sharks KiIled Every Year". The central idea is about the killing of sharks.

What is the key idea in the above text?

According to the text, all of the main fishing countries engage in destructive fishing tactics that result in the death of up to 100 million sharks each year and are largely responsible for the 70% reduction in shark populations worldwide over the last 50 years.

Hence the central idea is about the sporadic killing of sharks.

Summarize the story Wiesel tells of Rabbi Eliahu and his son. In your opinion, is Rabbi
SVEN [57.7K]

Answer:

The story told by Wiesel of Rabbi Eliahu's son was that when he realized that his father is growing weak, he left him behind for the sake of his own survival.

Though, ethically Eliahu's son's action of abandoning his father for his own survival was wrong but considering the trauma and horror people were going through in concentration camps, his actions can be justified.

Explanation:

"Night" is an autobiographical novel of Elie Wiesel. The novel recounts the time when author and his family were taken in concentration camps during the Holocaust. The novel also recounts the horrors that Wiesel and his family went through in the camps and how he lost his faith.

In retelling of his account, Wiesel narrates an incident occurred in the camp. In section 6, when Eliezer and other prisoners were asked to march to Gleiwitz through the snow, Rabbi Eliahu's son left his father behind in the march for the sake of his own survival.

nThe SS officers announced that whoever will fall behind will be killed, realising that his father getting weaker, Rabbi Eliahu's son ran forward because he did not want to lessen his own survival chances.

His actions can be justified because the Holocaust was the time when people met with a person within themselves who could do anything and commit any cruel crime to increase the chances for their own survival. Even if it to forsake their blood relations, they will do it.
