Here, the seventh graders held a dance that night and the eighth graders saw a play are the independent clause. Even though they were exhausted is the dependent clause.

While doing so, the Khmer Rouge assisted him by establishing communism in the nation. Both of them shared the ideologies of the other. Consequently, both became powerful.
