A teenage girl who is declared brain dead should not be removed from life support which is parent’s wishes to keep her alive.

Who is brain dead?

An individual is declared brain dead when such is not able to respond to any brain stem reflexes, unable to respond to stimuli and breath spontaneously.
According to Trevor et. al. the consent of the patient's parents must be gained before a drastic decision, such as removal of life support, is being made.
Therefore, the resources that can be used to resolve this dilemma is by abiding by the ethics of the medical profession which is to gain consent from the unconscious patient's relative before carrying out the procedure.
