An equation is formed of two equal expressions. The solution of the system of equations is (0.75, 1.25).

<h3>What is an equation?</h3>

An equation is formed when two equal expressions are equated together with the help of an equal sign '='.

The solution to the system of equation is,

y = 2 - x

y = 3x - 1

Substitute the value of y,

y = y

2 - x = 3x - 1

2 + 1 = 3x + x

3 = 4x

x = 3/4 = 0.75

Substitute the value of x in any one of the equation,

y = 2 - x

y = 2 - 0.75

y = 1.25

Hence, the solution of the system of equations is (0.75, 1.25).

Which would not be a step in solving 3x + 1 + 2x = 2+ 4x?
valina [46]
Well here is how you solve.

You first combine like-terms.
3x + 1 + 2x = 2 + 4x
5x + 1 = 2 + 4x
Then you isolate the variable by subtracting 1 from both sides.
5x = 1 + 4x
Then you do the same with 4x.
1x = 1
Now divide.
x = 1
Now I know this isn't the exact answer but if you look at the options you have, one of those shouldn't be shown, then that would be your answer. I hope this helps love! :)

hey guys i really need help with this is for the MOSL in my class how do i find the tax of a question
mylen [45]
How to tax things:

In this case, lets say the state tax is 7%.
Shen you buy something, lets say some shoes. For example lets say the price is 60.99
With the 7% tax, move the decimal point two times to the left: 7 -> .07
Multiply .07 by the total price

60.99 * .07 = 4.27
Then add this amount to the total price
60.99 + 4.27 = 65.26
This is how you tax

Step-by-step explanation:

15-0.5(4x-2)+4x=17\qquad\text{use the distributive property}\ a(b+c)=ab+ac\\\\15+(-0.5)(4x)+(-0.5)(-2)+4x=17\\\\15-2x+1+4x=17\qquad\text{combine like terms}\\\\(-2x+4x)+(15+1)=17\\\\2x+16=17\qquad\text{subtract 16 from both sides}\\\\2x+16-16=17-16\\\\2x=1\qquad\text{divide both sides by 2}\\\\\dfrac{2x}{2}=\dfrac{1}{2}\\\\x=\dfrac{1}{2}

Is each line parallel, perpendicular, or neither parallel nor perpendicular to a line whose slope is -6?
babymother [125]

Answer:

Line M - neither

Line N - parallel

Line P - perpendicular

Line Q - neither

Step-by-step explanation:

If a line is perpendicular to another, the slope will be the opposite, e.g. -6, opposite slope, -6.

If a line is parallel to another, the slope will be the exact same, e.g. -6, same slope, 1/6.
