How does the use of card-stacking support the theme in this passage?
Aleksandr [31]

Answer: Leaders will highlight the positives of every situation to make themselves seem competent.

Card-stacking is a propaganda technique. It refers to the manipulation of an audience by altering their perception on an issue by emphasizing one side and repressing another one. This is done through speeches, media bias or censorship. It is used by political candidates to discredit their opponents and make themselves seem more competent.

In this example, Squealer is trying to make Napoleon look cunning and clever because he was not "fooled" by Frederick into accepting a cheque. However, the animals do not know that a cheque is just as good as money and that Napoleon is actually ignorant, not capable.

JulsSmile [24]

Answer:

I feel like texting is better than talking primarily because I love to writing ,and since I do it on computer all the time, it's like a part of me. It's better to talk when I have the option to, like on a friend group where I can talk to them on mic, but for anything else typing is my go-to.

Explanation:

Well, this is my own personal opinion.

The fleet with the wedding party on board sailed southward on the China Sea. It was a long and perilous voyage. Stops were made
Marta_Voda [28]
The best answer here is choice B. We can determine this because of the tense used throughout the passage itself. Bearing this in mind, choice B matches the tense perfectly.

Choice A does not work at all because the verb "am" makes no sense in the context of the sentence. The same is true for choice C. The passage is not in present tense, so it cannot be this choice. Choice D could make sense, except that this is in the future tense versus the past tense.
