The number of peanuts ( x ) he could plant on 8,500 square meters of land = 95.6 kg

<h3>What is unitary method?</h3>

"It is a method of finding the value of a single unit, and based on that value we can find the required value."

For given question,

A farmer can plant 45 kg of peanuts on 4,000 square meters of land.

Using unitary method,

\frac{4000}{45}\\\\=88.8888 \\\\\approx 88.89

This means, a farmer can plant 1 kg of peanuts on 88.89 square meters of land.

We need to find the number of peanuts ( x ) he could plant on 8,500 square meters of land.

Here, 1 kg = 88.89 square meters

          x kg = 8500 square meters

\Rightarrow x=\frac{8500}{88.89}\\\\ \Rightarrow x = 95.6~kg

Therefore, the number of peanuts ( x ) he could plant on 8,500 square meters of land = 95.6 kg

Please help with #6. How do I find all of the real zeros? Thank you!!!
Morgarella [4.7K]

I'm assuming you're referring to problem 6. You are asked to find the number of x intercepts or roots, which is another term for "zero". I prefer the term root or x intercept as "zero" seems misleading. Anyways, all we do is count the number of times the graph crosses the x axis. This happens 4 times as shown in the attached image below. I have marked these points in red. The graph can directly cross over the x axis, or it can touch the x axis and then bounce back. Either way, it is considered an x intercept.

<h3>Answer: there are 4 x intercepts (or 4 roots)</h3>

A box contains 17 marbles, 13 blue marbles, and 23 white marbles. What is the part-whole ratio of red marbles in the box.
sergij07 [2.7K]
Since the ratio is part-Whole, first you need to find the whole. If you add all of the marble colors together (17+13+23) you get the total marbles (53) in the box. The ratio of red marbles to the total would be 17 to 53.
