Text structure simply means the way that the information is arranged in a text to convey the theme.

In the story, the Africans were used as slaves and they worked on the sugarcane plantation.

This resulted in the low prices that were paid for the product and this further increased slavery.

In this case, the cause and effect was used to show how slavery had an impact on sugar.
