A truck driver is driving from Nome, Alaska to Death Valley, California. Because he is traveling between locations with extreme

temperatures, he needs to check the weather continuously to make sure the gas in his truck remains in liquid form. The gas he uses freezes at −40° F and evaporates at 140° F. Part A: Write an inequality to represent the temperatures at which the gas in the truck will remain in liquid form. (2 points) Part B: Describe the graph of the inequality completely from Part A. Use terms such as open/closed circles and shading directions. Explain what the solutions to the inequality represent. (4 points) Part C: In January 1989, the temperature in Nome, Alaska dropped to −49° F. Would the gas in the driver's truck have remained in liquid form so he could have driven on this day? Why or why not? (4 points)
I need part b

Also I need it asap please and thanks

The answers to the options are:

  • The inequality that represent the temperatures  is -40°F < x  <140°F
  • Open interval
  • −49° F is not in the interval of  -40°F ad -140°F and as such, he cannot drive.

<h3>What is the inequality of the temperature?</h3>

This inequality is known tp imply that the normal body temperature is taken (subtracted) from the minimum and maximum body temperature.

Note that in case A, the The inequality that represent the temperatures  is less than sign.

In case b, it is an open interval because it means that in -40°F to -140°F , it is not equal to as that is the reason that  the gas cannot stay liquid.

Is -0.44 bigger then 4.35
TEA [102]

Answer: No.

Step-by-step explanation:

1. It is negative. -0.44. Any negative number compared to a positive number when you compare which is the larger number, the positive number will always be greater.

2. The 4 in the number 4.35 is a whole number. However, the whole number in -0.44 is, well zero. Just by looking at that, you can tell that 4.35 is the larger number.

Hope that helps :))

Graph h(x)=7 sin x ?
DENIUS [597]

Answer:

The graph of h(x) is shown below.

Step-by-step explanation:

The given function is

h(x)=7\sin x

The general form of sine function is

f(x)=a\sin(bx+c)+d

Where, a is amplitude, b is period, c is phase shift and d is vertical shift.

So, the amplitude of the given function is 7, period is 1, phase shift is 0 and vertical shift is 0.

It means the minimum value of function is -7 and maximum value is 7.

Put x=0 in the given function.

h(x)=7\sin (0)=7(0)=0

Put  x=-\frac{\pi}{2} in the given function.

h(x)=7\sin (-\frac{\pi}{2})=-7(1)=-7

Put  x=\frac{\pi}{2} in the given function.

h(x)=7\sin (\frac{\pi}{2})=7(1)=7

Therefore the points on the function are (0,0), (-\frac{\pi}{2},-7),(\frac{\pi}{2},7).

The graph of function is shown below.

Express the ratio in simplest form. The ratio of 500 m to 3 km
tester [92]
<span>1) Express the following ratios in the simplest form.
a) 150 : 400
</span>Solution : <span>
The given ratio is 150 : 400 = 150/400
The common factor of 150 and 400 is 50.
(150 ÷ 50)/ (400 ÷ 50) = 3/8 = 3 : 8.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
b) A dozen to score
</span>Solution : <span>
One dozen = 12 and one score = 20.
So, a dozen to score = 12/20 = 12 : 20.
(12 ÷ 4)/ (20 ÷ 4) [ As the common factor is 4]
= 3/5 = 3 : 5.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
c) 200 grams to 4 kg
</span>Solution : <span>
200 g to 4 kg
As both the quantities are in different units, first make their units same.
1kg = 1000 g
∴ 4 kg = 4000 g.
200 g to 4000 g = 200 / 4000
Common factor of 200 and 4000 is 200.
(200 ÷ 200)/(4000 ÷ 200) = 1/20 = 1 : 20.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
d) Sam earned $4000 and paid $500 as income tax and spent $1500 on household expenses. Find the ratio of : 1) income tax to income 2) household expenses to income 3) savings to earnings
</span><span>Solution </span><span>
Sam’s income = $4000
Income tax = $500
∴ income tax to income = 500/4000
(500 ÷ 500)/(4000 ÷ 500) = 1/8
Ratio of Income tax to income is 1 : 8
Expenses = $1500
∴ Household expenses to income = 1500/4000
(1500 ÷ 500)/ (4000 ÷ 500) = 3/8
Ratio of Household expenses to income = 3 : 8.
Savings = Income – (expenses + income tax)
Savings = 4000 – (1500 + 500) = $2000.
∴ Savings to earnings = 2000/4000
(2000 ÷ 2000)/(4000 ÷ 2000) = ½
Ratio of savings to expenses = 1 : 2.</span>
