There are 1024 different possible variations of salad.

<h3>How to determine the number of ways?</h3>

The number of ways of selecting at least one item from a list of distinct items can be calculated as:

2^n -1

Where n = number of distinct items in the list.

The items which could be added are:

{banana pepper, green peppers, onions, cucumbers, carrots, olives, pickles, cheese, sunflower seeds, tomatoes}

The number of items, n = 10

Therefore, the number of different variations of items that can be made from the list is :

2^{10} - 1 = 1024 -1\\\\= 1023

Since the salad originally contains lettuce only,

1023 + 1 = 1024

Hence, there are 1024 different variations of salad possible.

Law Incorporation [45]

Answer:

Noelle has four times as many apples in her grocery bag as her friends

Dakota and Kylie combined. Dakota has 1 apple in her bag. Noelle has 16

apples in her bag. How many apples does Kylie have in her grocery bag?

The equation 4(x + 1) = 16 models this situation. Which choice shows the sequence of operations needed to solve this problem, using both arithmetic and algebra?

Factor the polynomial expression 4x2 +9.
Yanka [14]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Factor it by first setting it equal to 0:

4x^2+9=0 Now subtract 9 from both sides:

4x^2=-9 Divide both sides by 4:

x^2=-\frac{9}{4} Then take the square root of both sides:

x = ±\sqrt{-\frac{9}{4} } , which of course is not allowed. Therefore, we have to allow for the imaginary numbers in this solution. Knowing that,

x = ±\sqrt{-1*\frac{9}{4} } is an equivalent radicand, we can now replace -1 with its imaginary counterpart:

x = ±\sqrt{i^2*\frac{9}{4} }

Each one of the elements in the radicand are perfect squares, so we simplify as follows:

x = ±\frac{3}{2}i

And there you go!
