Well, blue and green are lighter colors. And in the summertime it is usually very hot and often uncomfortable. Wearing blue and green colors are not only fashionable but they absorb much less heat keeping you cooler and more comfortable. If you wear darker colors you'll absorb more heat.

Many official buildings built in the US are very strongly influenced by Greek and Roman architecture.
