Question 13 of 20
quester [9]

Answer: A. gold standard

Explanation:

When using the gold standard, the value of the currency of a country is based on the value of gold. This means that the currency will be able to buy a fixed amount of gold thereby enabling it to be exchangeable in banks both abroad and at home.

Banks would therefore be required to exchange the currency (U.S. Dollars) for that fixed amount of gold that the country has set its currency at. This currency standard has largely been abandoned.

What are you doing to live out the Great Commission today.
Dmitry_Shevchenko [17]

Answer:

To live out the Great Commission today, I am sharing the truth of God's Word with others, through various virtual platforms during this corona virus pandemic, by spreading hope, love, and encouragement and being an positive channel of support for others. I am doing this by sharing Scriptures, prayers, thoughtful and inspiring messages to love ones and friends so they will know that they are not alone, as we navigate these very difficult times together and joining our faith together in trusting in God to bring about miraculous healing to our land.

Explanation:

The Great Commission was given to the disciples of Jesus Christ in the New Testament, to go and spread the gospel (or the "good news" which was  that Jesus had come into the world to save the world from their sins,  he lived as a man, was crucified on Calvary's cross, died and rose again on the 3rd day) all over the land. In having the disciples spread the gospel, the truth of God's Word would touch the hearts of  all who heard, to place their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, the One who offers eternal life, hope, peace, love, and eternal security. The reason this is important is because "sin" separates mankind from a saving relationship with holy God. Jesus came to restore our broken relationship with his Father through his sacrificial death on Calvary's cross.

What was one result of Nat Turner’s rebellion, in which Turner organized a group of fellow slaves and killed 60 white people
babymother [125]

Answer:

C. White Southerners created stricter laws to police slaves’ behavior.

Explanation:

  • On August 22, 1831, slave Nat Turner led a slave rebellion in Virginia. He believed that God chose him to lead his people into freedom.
  • He started the rebellion with five like-minded people, but after two days, that number had grown to about 70 slaves. The plan was to free as many slaves as possible by terrorizing Southampton County, Virginia.
  • The plan succeeded in implementing, while killing at least 57 white men, women and children. But afterwards, local white men, aided by military forces, quelled the rebellion.
  • Nat Turner managed to escape but was caught six weeks later. He was brought to court and convicted of organizing a rebellion and hanged in November 1831.
  • The so-called Nat Turner Rebellion scared many white people in the area. Even stricter laws were introduced for slaves and all efforts to abolish slavery were unsuccessful for a long time.
