An ideology, which is based on the strong belief that a nation shall be congruent with the state, is known as nationalism. The primary intention of Nationalism in a society is the promotion and protection of individual interests of the nation.

Nationalism had its highest cultural showering in different parts of the world during the 20th century, especially after the end of World War I in the early years.
