The extra amount of money that Jenny need to buy the tiles is equal to 560 Pence.

How much extra does Jenny need to buy the tiles?

First of all, we would determine the area of the trapezium by using this formula:

Area = ½ × (b₁ + b₂) × h

Area = ½ × (2.5 + 1.5) × 15.5

Area = 31 m².

For the tiles she needs, we have:

Number of packs needed = 31/2

Number of packs needed = 15.5 ≈ 16 m².

For the price, we have:

Price of 16 packs of tiles = 16 × £8.80

Price of 16 packs of tiles = £140.8.

For the price after using discount card of 25%, we have:

New price = 140.8 - (0.25 × 140.8)

New price = 140.8 - 35.2

New price = £105.6.

Difference = 105.6 - 100

Difference = £5.6.

Conversion:

1 pounds = 100 pence

5.6 pounds = X pence

Cross-multiplying, we have:

X = 100 × 5.6

X = 560 Pence.
