WILL MARK BRAINLY! Which statements about the Cold War are true?
GaryK [48]

It pitted communism against democracy.

It never became an actual war.

Explanation:

  • The Cold War is the name for a state of tension and hostility in international relations that developed after World War II, primarily between the United States of America and the Soviet Union, but also between their allies.
  • Although both America and the Soviet Union emerged victorious in World War II, political differences between them soon grew into open but limited rivalry and hostility, which, despite the constant threat of war, never developed into a comprehensive military conflict. By 1949, the world was roughly divided between pro-Western and pro-communist states.
  • The allies of the two opposing parties waged wars on their behalf, such as those in Korea (1950-1953) and Vietnam (1955-1975), while both America and the Soviet Union accumulated huge arsenals of nuclear and other weapons.
  • Attempts to reach an understanding between the two conflicting parties failed in the 1970s. By the late 1980s, America had outpaced the Soviet Union in its allocation of nuclear weapons and pushed the Soviets toward financial ruin, leading to a series of arms reduction agreements in 1988 and 1991.

Why were people so angry, to the point of violence, about the integration of our schools?
Citrus2011 [14]

Answer:

They did not want to share equal rights with African Americans.

Explanation:

School integration ended race-based segregation within American public and private schools. After the Civil War, the Southern States tried to limit the rights of African American by implementing the laws of Jim Crow. The Southern found a way to keep the African Americans separate by introducing the segregation laws. These laws separated African Americans from the white by building different schools, public places, parks, etc.

When the government decided to look upon the issue of education, Brown v. Board of Education took decision declared the same school to everyone. Most southerners had no plan of desegregating their schools and were angry and in point of violence as they did not want to maintain a separate school for the African American.

Abraham Lincoln differed from Jefferson Davis in that davis
Andrew [12]
Abraham Lincoln was able to work very well with the government and the public, cooperating with them as often as possible. Jefferson Davis, however, was not—he often didn’t take the advise of his peers in the government and didn’t pay as much attention to the public, as shown as how he abandoned all of his citizens in the Confederate’s capital and fled to save his own life.

Therefore, the answer is E: was unable to work with government and the public.
