Which detail best shows how the historical setting influences the narrator’s preparations for the day? "They said it couldn't be

done, but they did it," Papa kept repeating, almost like he half believed it himself. We had been hearing about the building of the Great East River Bridge for years, with its deals gone bad, workers with illnesses, and defiance of something called physics. We weren't quite sure what it all meant, except that for now, my sister Rachel and I were putting on our finest dresses and the shoes Mother had polished twice. Soon we were out the door as a family, going to walk on a bridge taller than the entire city. There were so many people, but we were determined. Our modest Brooklyn family was going to walk high up in the air on the miracle of a bridge to Manhattan. The sunshine warmed my shoulders as we joined the masses of people walking toward the river. I stretched onto my tiptoes to see the swarm of boats gathering underneath the bridge up ahead. I gasped quietly when I saw the enormous expansion before me. “There it is!” I exclaimed. “Yes, there’s the Great East River Bridge,” Papa said looking down at me.

What is the Historical Setting is the particular aspect that most effectively conveys: "They said it couldn't be done, but they did it," Papa kept repeating, almost like he half believed it himself.

How the historical context affects the narrator's morning routine?

The historical context refers to the historical occurrences that shaped people's conduct today. We discovered from that literature that many people believed the Great East River's development to be impractical.

The family did its best to get ready to go watch the amazing feat once it was finished.

Which answer choice best describes how the plot of "All for a Paisa" unfolds? (A) It unfolds in a collection of scenes that sugg
s344n2d4d5 [400]

Answer:

(C) It unfolds in a few brief scenes that show readers why the merchant’s wife continues to believe in their son’s capacity to learn and grow.

Explanation:

"All for a Paisa" is a riddle presented in a folklore story with slightly varied versions in different regions and societies.

"Paisa" in the Indian sub-continent means hundredth part of a rupee. It is somewhat like to penny, hence very small/negligible amount of money.

A summary of one of the versions of the story is as follows;

A merchant is unwilling to marry his son because he does not believe in the intelligence and abilities of his son. His wife however speaks favorably about their son, and succeeds in getting a chance for his son from his husband. The merchant in order to test his son's intelligence and capacity to learn gives him one paisa to and asks for buying with this something to eat, something to drink, something to chew, something to plant in a garden, and something as food for the cow. The son by the advice of iron-smith's daughter buys a watermelon which fulfills all the requirements. His father is impressed even after knowing the truth about iron-smith daughter's helping his son. He arranges his son's marriage with that girl.

Option C is correct because the story has few brief scenes.

Option A is incorrect because son's mother thinks very positive about his son's abilities.

Option B is incorrect because the story is not one extended description of just merchant's views.

Option D is incorrect because although merchant's son has average intelligence, but his willingness to go and buy such a thing and his unhappy expression are a sign that he is willing and able to learn.

1.) Discuss the conflict Dana and Kevin face with their families on pages 108-112. What is paradoxical about
tangare [24]

When Dana returns to the past and gets closer to Weylin's house, she feels at home.

Explanation:

 • Kevin is a progressive man. In the 1970s, when casual racism was still common in the United States, he saw racial equality as mandatory and was shocked and surprised by the prejudiced beliefs of other people. He married a black woman over the objections.
 • Because he is a white man, he is not exposed to the kind of horrors that Dana, a black woman, must confront. And because he can be self-involved and insensitive, Kevin doesn’t make it his business to understand these horrors.
 • Kevin’s experiences in the South suggest that only the most extraordinary members of any ruling class can fully empathize with oppressed members of society.
