Vika [28.1K]

Explanation:

Definition of war :

War is an intense armed conflict between states, governments, societies, or paramilitary groups such as mercenaries, insurgents, and militias. It is generally characterized by extreme violence, aggression, destruction, and mortality, using regular or irregular military forces. An example of a war is the conflict between the United States and Iraq.

Types of war :

Three pure types of war are absolute war, instrumental war, and agonistic fighting. These wars are oriented, respectively, toward annihilation, advantage, and glory.

Absolute war - Absolute war is unrestricted and unregulated war

Instrumental war - Instrumental war may or may not be restricted, according to considerations of expediency.

Agonistic fighting - Agonistic fighting is regulated according to norms

Role of war :

Specifically, it a means that the society of states limits war to keep it within the common rules laid down by the society of states itself. In other words, war holds an ambiguous role from this perspective of being simultaneously the decisive threat to the society of states, and the instrument of protecting it.

Principles of war :

Selection and maintenance of the aim; maintenance of morale; offensive action; surprise; security; concentration of force; economy of effort; flexibility; co-operation; and administration.

Importance of war :

By fighting wars, people have created larger, more organized societies that have reduced the risk that their members will die violently.Indeed, in the Stone Age, you had as much as a 20 percent chance of dying violently at the hands of another human being.

Which best states the author’s purpose for including information about the appearance of the striking workers in the text?
scoray [572]

Middle schooler here, I use this account with my mom and sister. Couldn’t find and awnser but I figured it was A. The awnser is A, “ to show pride the workers had in their union”, because they thought of themselves as representing their union to the rest of the world.
