Natasha2012 [34]

c)the passage of the Fifteenth Amendment

The Fifteenth Amendment allowed for black men to vote. Women were not extended the right to vote.

Despite working toward abolition and the right to vote at the same time, women were not granted the right to vote. This inspired women's groups to reorganize but it also created a split in ideology. On one side, women who believed the Fifteenth Amendment did apply to women and were willing to work with blacks to test the amendment. The other side believed blacks were responsible for women not getting the right to vote and their new mission was to achieve an amendment specifically giving women the right to vote.
