My answer is that the word is irony, if you are referring to this in terms of a reading passage. Why? Well, see explanation below!

Irony is an instance where something is said or done that is the opposite of what was expected. This style is used a lot in stories like graphic novels. An example of irony would be Batman and the Joker teaming up, for anybody who knows DC superheroes and villains. This is considered irony because Batman is a vigilante, while the joker is a villain. The word “contradictory,” as the other person answered, would be incorrect because that means that two things are said that cannot be true.
