The key consequences of these type of variations in physical development on the adolescents' social, emotional and cognitive development at large is the impact that it has on their self esteem if not properly managed.

Teenagers and adolescents are known to overly compete for comparison. At this stage, if not properly managed by parental care and emotional support, it the idea that there is an ideal way to look for behave can trigger emotional stress and depression.

<h3>What are the implications of physical development of the adolescent to the teaching and learning process and in the classroom?</h3>

Armed with the above knowledge, it is crucial for parents, teachers and guardians to help reinforce the self esteem of their adolescents and teenagers.

This is because a teenager who is depressed about how they look or behave and are often the target of bullying as as result will most likely be a low performer academically.
