Answer:

Technology and internet has brought young people together but even this has its pros and cons.

Where on one side, technology has played a vital role in bringing people across borders together. Unlike before, people are just a click away. They can see the moments of their lives, talk to them through videos, and what not.

On the other hand, young people are so engrossed in the things that technology and internet has to offer, that they have forgotten how to live their life in real time. They value screen time over face to face conversations, which also is termed as time waste.

Answer:

Today's young people were born during the fast development of information technology that started back in 1991 when the world wide web, or the internet, started operations. unlike previous generations, the youngest generations not only were born a fast-developing technology but also became used to adapt to every new arising development.

According to research, young people have learned to use technology to create social networks far greater than ever before. also, staying connected to these social networks promotes a sense of belonging to a group and improves their self-esteem. likewise, the capacities of the new technologies allow young people to share personal experiences like never before by sharing pictures, videos, and information on their emotional status via text.

Answer: His melancholy tone highlights the despair of the excerpt.

Explanation: In the given excerpt from Irving's "The Mysterious Stranger" we can see the description of a man struggling with strong emotions, his gestures (like clasping his hands together until his fingers were imprinted in his flesh, or sinking his face upon his knees) are signs of despair and suffering. So the statement that best describes the tone in the excerpt is: His melancholy tone highlights the despair of the excerpt.
