In a historic ruling handed down on June 27, 2013, the Supreme Court declared that Section 3 of DOMA is unconstitutional and that the federal government cannot discriminate against married lesbian and homosexual couples when deciding federal benefits and protections.

What is the United States v. Windsor case?

A significant same-sex marriage civil rights case heard by the US Supreme Court was Windsor, 570 U.S. 744 (2013). The Defense of Marriage Act's (DOMA) Section 3 was found to be in violation of the Fifth Amendment's Due Process Clause because it forbade the federal government from recognizing same-sex unions.

Asserting that Windsor compensated her for her harm in the lower court and that there was no debate because the Government-backed her claim, Justice Scalia dissented in concurrence with Justice Thomas and Chief Justice Roberts.

nikitadnepr [17]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although there are no options attached we can say the following.

Why is it important that judges are appointed and that they cannot be removed from office unless impeached?

It is very important because these judges must decide on very difficult and important decisions in the United States. That is why their morals and ethics must be second to none.

That is why the President of the United States must consider positive and negative aspects when deciding who to nominate for a Supreme Court justice. Because they are going to be there for life.

The President and the Senate, which confirms the appointment, must consider the experience of the judge, its reputation that must be intact, its knowledge, its moral, ethics, and values, its commitment to the country, its mental and physical health.

What was powaski’s interpretation about the origins of the Cold War.
RUDIKE [14]

Answer:

The traditional or orthodox interpretation attributes responsibility for the Cold War to the Soviet Union. Writing primarily from the viewpoint of the 1950s and 1960s, historians cited Soviet ideology and aggression as the primary factors responsible for igniting the conflict. American leaders, faced with communist aggression in Europe and Asia, had no choice but to stand firm against Soviet belligerence.
