  • The battle of Fort Stedman: The Battle of Fort Sumter refers to the bombing of the Confederate States of America between April 12 and 13, 1861, with the intention of expelling the federal troops occupying the fortification of Fort Sumter at the entrance to Charleston Bay on South Carolina. The importance of this battle, which did not cause many casualties, is that it was the trigger that triggered the American Civil War

  • The battle of  Five Forks: Richmond, Virginia, the capital of the Confederates in the United States War of War, fell on April 3, 1865 to the Union troops, in what was the most significant sign that the Southern Confederation was defeated.  For ten months General Ulysses Grant, commander-in-chief of the Unionist troops, tried unsuccessfully to infiltrate the city. After General Robert Lee, commander of the Confederate forces, made a desperate attack on Fort Stedman on the union-dominated front on March 25, Grant prepared for a major offensive. He invaded Five Forks on April 1, crushing Lee's rearguard southwest of Petersburg. On April 2, the "yankees" (name given to Union soldiers) attack across the enemy-ridden line in Petersburg, and the Confederates are defeated.

Part D What specific language in the document indicates that the freeing of slaves is for moral reasons?
Pavlova-9 [17]

Hi. You have not shown the document the question refers to, which makes it impossible for it to be answered. However, I will try to help you as best I can.

The only way to answer this question is to read the document. As this document is not available, this reading must be done by you. During this reading, you will need to identify the type of language used to emphasize moral thoughts about the freedom of slaves.

Moral thoughts on this subject generally reported that slaves were human beings just like any white citizen and therefore it was not right to enslave them. In addition, documents usually use formal and cultured language, with flowery words, as they intend to establish seriousness in the subject presented, showing that it is important that this subject is formally considered.
