Answer:

800 cm^3

Step-by-step explanation:

An easy way is to cut the base up into two parts. Take a look at the drawing I added below for explanations!

Rectangle ACDG has an area of 28.

--> (12-5)(4) = (7)(4) = 28

Rectangle BFEG has an area of 72.

--> (10-4)(12) = (6)(12) = 72

So the total area of the base is 28 + 72 which is 100.

Base x Height is the volume, so it will be 100 x 8 (The height) = 800

So 800 cm^3 is your answer!

Solve the system by substitution
-x-y-z=-8
-4x+4y+5z=7
2x+2z=4

show the work
Bezzdna [24]

ANSWER

x=3,y=6,z=-1

EXPLANATION

We the have the equations,

-x-y-z=-8

Multiplying through by negative one gives,

x+y+z=8---(1)

Also

-4x+4y+5z=7---(2)

and

2x+2z=4

Dividing through by 2 gives

x+z=2

Making z the subject  gives,

z=2-x---(3)

Now we substitute equation (3) into equation (1) and (2)

Equation (3) in to equation (1) gives,

x+y+2-x=8

This implies that;

y=8-2

y=6

We now put equation (3) in (2) to get,

-4x+4y+5(2-x)=7

This implies that

-4x+4y+10-5x=7

-9x+4y=7-10

-9x+4y=-3

But

y=6

So,

-9x+4(6)=-3

-9x+24=-3

-9x=-3-24

-9x=-27

Dividing through by negative 9 gives

x=3

and

z=2-3

z=-1

Therefore x=3,y=6,z=-1

What are the solutions of the equation x^6-9x^3+8= 0 use u substitution to solve
labwork [276]

Answer: x = {1, 2}

Step-by-step explanation:

x⁶ - 9x³ + 8 = 0

Let u = x³

⇒ (x³)² - 9(x³)¹ + 8(x³)⁰ = 0

⇒ u² - 9u + 8 = 0

⇒ (u - 1)(u - 8) = 0

⇒ u = 1 or u = 8

Replace u with x³

x³ = 1     or   x³ = 8

Take the cubed root of each side

x = 1     or     x = 2

kiruha [24]

Answer:

m = 36

Step-by-step explanation:

3 = m/12

Multiply each side by 12
