In a five-paragraph literary analysis essay, explain how each author develops the common theme. Compare and contrast how the aut
Snowcat [4.5K]

Hi. Your question asks for a literary analysis of the texts "Response to Executive Order 9066" and "Mericans." In this analysis, you must show your perception of the themes covered in the text, the techniques used by the authors and the way in which these themes are developed.

As an analysis is your personal perception of the text, I cannot do this analysis for you, but I can show you how to do it.

Firstly, it is important that you read the texts and identify the topics covered. In general, both texts address the lives of foreigners, mestizos and people of different ethnicities in America. However, these themes are approached in very different ways. In "Response to Executive Order 9066" the author discusses how racism, discrimination and the existence of stereotypes with foreigners or descendants affect people's lives.

In this story, we meet an Nipo-American girl who is unfairly accused by her friend, a white American girl. The entire charge is based on racism and xenophobia. The author of this text, however, approaches this issue with delicacy, showing that although xenphobia is painful and present in the country, there is hope that it will be overcome through love and tolerance among people.

"Mericans" also addresses the experience of foreigners in America. The author addresses the life of Mexicans, who when living in America, begin to abandon their native customs, which are suppressed by American customs, although these people are not considered Americans by society. In this book, the author addresses themes such as acculturation and cultural identification.

After reading these two texts, you should write down your perceptions of how these themes are worked throughout the text and organize a five-paragraph essay that should be done as follows:

  • 1st paragraph: This paragraph will be the introduction, where you will briefly present the two texts and present your position in relation to them, that is, you will briefly and objectively present your opinion about them. This will be your thesis statement.
  • 2nd Paragraph: Here you can present your insights into "Response to Executive Order 9066." In this paragraph you will show what you think of the theme, how this theme is worked, how the author reinforces this theme and the types of reflection it causes.
  • 3rd paragraph: Here you will present your perceptions of "Mericans" and show how the themes are covered, their perceptions and how the author works on these themes to provoke reflection in the readers.
  • 4th paragraph: In this paragraph, you will show how these two works are similar and different, even if they approach similar themes and can be easily related.
  • 5th paragraph: Here you will complete the text and show how these issues are presented in real life and how they can be solved, leaving society a much better place.

Which of the following options most closely explains why Beowulf is not immediately welcomed upon his arrival in Denmark?
Serggg [28]

Answer:

Hello. You did not enter the answer options, but I can help you by saying that Beowulf is not immediately welcome at De*mark, because he is a foreigner, armed and unknown to the guards.

Explanation:

As soon as he arrives at De * mark, Beowulf is not readily welcomed by the guards who present a quick hostility that ends as soon as Beowulf presents himself and shows that he is an honorable and peaceful man.

This is because Beowulf is a foreigner, unknown to guards who do not know if he wants to do the kingdom any harm. In addition it is possible to see that Beowulf is armed, which increases the mistrust of the guards.
